Post Robinson Crusoe Island

During the massive gifting of Santiago, we could not understand why the water fronts couldn't reach the inland. Following satellite images, Ale saw that they somehow dissolved at the latitude of Valparaiso, preventing rain in the center of the country. This brought back information. Turns out that Ale's sister had been in Robinson Crusoe Island last summer, which is located precisely at the same latitude of Valparaiso, only 700 kilometers into the Pacific Ocean. She had mentioned seeing a NASA buoy over there. So we maneuvered some connections and got two spaces to ride in the military ship that once a month supplies the island.
We took off the week before christmas, taking with us two big bags full of tb's, hhg's and alluminum pipes (500 tb's).

We dropped a tb every 4 minutes on our way over there. Here is Ale on his vigilant spot.

After about 20 hours of traveling at open sea, our first view of the island:

The first day we went on a hike and installed two peace makers. This was the view on top of the mountain:

You can see the other side of the island and another island on the back. This is where Alejandro Selkirk, the historical character that inspired the fictional character of Robinson Crusoe, used to climb to have a look at both sides of the Pacific in case there were any ships that could take him back to England.

We were shocked to see how healthy the atmosphere of the island and the general surroundings were. The sea was extremely clean, deep blue, full of life. Locals just got in the water with a stick and harpooned fish for lunch. The skies were sparkly and changing, with occasional short rains. We felt a bit disappointed because there were not even that much towers (only 3).

The second day we gifted another antenna. Over there Ale found what seemed to be an underground base. After gifting that place, silfs appeared all over.

We also installed a few other peacemakers...
